Christopher Clapp, CEO


Christopher Clapp has served in executive leadership positions for technology organizations for much of his 25-year career. In September 2010, Christopher was named chief executive officer of Bluelock in recognition of his proven ability to take high-growth, emerging companies to the next level. As CEO of Bluelock, he is responsible for developing and leading the company’s long-term business strategy, establishing a national footprint and achieving growth and profitability goals. His initial involvement with Bluelock began in January 2010 when he joined Bluelock’s Board of Directors.

As a senior leader, Christopher focuses principally on strategic vision and organizational architecture critical for a company’s long-term success. Organizations that Christopher has led are renowned for their strong collaboration, creativity, financial and operational disciplines, and exceptional and reliable performance.

Prior to Bluelock, Christopher guided ANGEL Learning’s dynamic growth since assuming company leadership as president and chief executive officer in late 2001 until the sale of the business to Blackboard (NASDAQ: BBBB) in May 2009. During his tenure, the company grew impressively producing profits and positive cash flow in each year. The business earned national recognition for its strong customer satisfaction, employee loyalty, and product innovation.

Before ANGEL Learning, Christopher served as vice president of marketing of Made2Manage Systems and CEO of a wholly-owned e-business subsidiary for the company. As part of executive management, Christopher helped lead Made2Manage from a small, private company to a publicly-traded business. Previously, he has served in managerial capacities in the software industry serving manufacturing, supply chain and telecommunications markets.

Christopher is also the Managing Director of Great Blue Ventures, LLC where he is leveraging his operational experience by helping emerging growth technology entrepreneurs through strategic and operational decisions. He also volunteers his time serving on the boards of several technology companies including PolicyStat (healthcare) and Bluelock. He participates in board and investment committee roles for not-for-profit organizations including Indiana University Indiana Innovation Fund, Conner Prairie Interactive History Park, and TechPoint.

Christopher is a graduate of Purdue University, with a degree in industrial engineering.
