DHS’s Margie Graves puts agile first

“Cloud-first” is a popular phrase these days as companies of all sizes work to find a new normal for their IT needs and developing applications.  But what about a “agility-first” approach instead of cloud?  In this FCW article, Camille Tuutti explains how Margie Graves, deputy CIO at the Department of Homeland Security instilled an agility-first strategy for her team.  The idea boils down to rethinking how to approach projects.  By breaking each down into smaller increments rather than taking on lengthy initiatives, DHS is able to save both money and time.

Cloud cited as key driver for redefining CIO role [Infographic]

This CloudTech News article focuses on a study of 100 European, Middles Eastern and African CIOs and the impact cloud has on their changing job role.  In the research 50% of CIOs polled expected that cloud adoption would lessen the time they deal with IT Infrastructure and two in three anticipate business units procuring cloud services more frequently.
