YEAH! It's not just me! Whether I'm asked what I do or am
working on marketing materials for BlueLock, "cloud" or "cloud
computing" always comes up. I knew that people outside of the
industry would be cloudy on the meaning of those terms.
What I've learned in my 7 months with a pure cloud hosting company,
is that the entire industry is still grappling with how to describe
"the cloud."
Last week's opening session at VMworld 2010 had some fun with this
reality in a video that was shown to the...Read More »

Enterprise Cloud Adoption - No Surprises Here!
August 1, 2010 by

For the first 19 years of my professional career, I had the
privilege of working with a well-known marketing research firm. I
designed and analyzed many a survey in my day helping some of the
largest companies in the world make better business decisions
because of that information. I also learned in that chapter of my
career that it was the exception rather than the rule when a survey
revealed a surprising finding.

Deja vu: E-business and Cloud Computing
July 25, 2010 by
Kim Graham Lee
The other day I was driving home from work and had one of those
major "ah-ha" moments. I was reflecting on my first six months at
BlueLock as CMO and started to think back to
ten years ago at this same time when I had six months under my belt
at another exciting and emerging company. The company was founded
in 1999 right before
the dot.com bust in April of 2000. Our mission was to help
make "e-business"a central part of our client's operations. We were providing value
to our clients by helping...Read More »

CloudCamp: This is My Kind of Camping!
June 4, 2010 by
Kim Graham Lee
It's exciting! After four months with BlueLock, IÂ have
officially become a "Cloud Camper"! Last Thursday evening I
participated in the first-ever Cloud Camp in Cincinnati, though it was
actually held in northern Kentucky. I enjoyed the format. I have
never attended an "unpanel" or "unconference" before.
Our Director of Sales Engineering, Bob Roudebush, did a GREAT job in his 5-minute lightning talk on "Application Scalability in the Cloud." He also participated in the "unpanel."Â

Congratulations to the entire BlueLock team for winning the 2010 Techpoint Mira IT Gazelle Award! After a few months of competing for the award with other noteworthy finalists, the five panels of judges voted and our cloud computing company took top honors for this prestigious recognition. The IT Gazelle Award is given each year to recognize fast-growing technology companies that have been in business less than three years since initial commercialization.

Today is a big day in Indianapolis! It's the annual
running of the Indianapolis 500. While members of my family are
there, I opted to stay home and get a jump-start on the week
ahead.Things are very exciting and very busy these days helping drive the BlueLock car in the cloud computing space and race. The field has grown since our Indianapolis-based company first launched in 2006 focused on providing Infrastructure as a Service. Recently, Cloud Computing Journal shared its listing of the Top... Plugging in to the Cloud
April 30, 2010 by
Kim Graham Lee
Recently I had the pleasure of representing BlueLock at a reception
for
Mira Award finalists. Yes, this cloud computing company is up
for the prestigious Gazelle Award. At the event, each finalist
company was asked to provide a 60-second elevator pitch on what it
does. Since our own branding work is still in progress (I hired a
branding firm to help us), I gave it my best shot.
I began by first describing BlueLock as a cloud hosting company and referenced that we have spent our lifetime in...Read More »

BlueLock...a GOOD Company!
March 30, 2010 by

Recently, BlueLock sponsored an exciting event
here in Indianapolis. It was the first Byte Night, an event
benefiting NPower IN, a non-profit focused on
providing technology services to non-profits. The evening was
billed as:
"A fun, social gathering of the area's top IT leaders who are committed to improving and sustaining technology's impact on non-profits in Central Indiana."
Funny how different paths in life connect. Three years ago, I met Pat O'Day, BlueLock's CTO, when he joined the NPower...Read More »
