Cloud isn’t new anymore and it’s been through quite an evolution already.  In this VMware blog post, Enrico Boverino highlights that the question is no longer “What cloud is,” but rather, “How can we do it?”.   Boverino recalls results from the CIO Customer Solutions Group’s 2011 Global Cloud Computing Adoption Survey to support his thoughts and seeks to identify five key areas for overall IT Transformation.

Significant surge in use of cloud computing by Irish CIOs

Let’s take a leap across the pond for this story, as we keep our finger on the pulse of what’s going on in cloud for the rest of the world.  This SiliconRepublic report shares the details on how Irish CIOs report cloud use up from 38% to 58% in just one year.  An impressive 77% of respondents stated the cloud movement decision was driven by IT.  Read this article to see an overview of CIO priority shifts, social media use and budget projections.
