Cloud computing is hot these days; there’s no denying it. And Bluelock, provider of enterprise cloud hosting solutions, is riding that wave today. The company’s phenomenal growth of 939% from 2008 to 2010 put it high on the list of the Technology 200. That growth, says CEO Christopher Clapp, comes from several things: the company secured a large client in 2009, and the general move toward cloud services didn’t hurt either: “As we moved into 2010, greater market awareness of cloud and the value of Bluelock helped attribute to our growth and to land the larger clients.” Read full article.

Lead411 just announced the final rankings for its Technology 200 List including the fastest growing tech companies within the US based on percentage revenue growth. Read press release.

Five Indiana companies are on this year’s Technology 200 list compiled by Lead411. The rankings of the fastest growing tech businesses in the U.S. are based on revenue growth. The companies on this year’s list were chosen from more than 600 applicants. The Indiana companies that made the rankings include Slingshot SEO, BlueLock, iGoDigital, RICS Software and IASTA. The startup space is getting more and more crowded with companies that want to skyrocket to fame and riches, but only a handful actually get there. Each year, Lead411, an information services company, hosts the Technology 200, a list focused on the top revenue-producing startups in technology. The list is ranked based on the highest percentage revenue growth from 2008 to 2010. More than 600 companies applied, all of whom are based in the United States, are private, and earned over $500,000 in revenues in the year 2010. Bluelock placed 16th, within the Top 50 finalists. Battles over formats and standards in the technology industry aren’t new. Whether it was e-mail, word processing, graphical images or even some more current like the apps on your smart phone, each new innovation typically starts out somewhat proprietary and incompatible. Today we live in a world where a lot of those battles have been fought and won while some are only starting to heat up. Formats tend to resolve themselves through standards so that things like e-mail and web pages “just work.” That or at a minimum the technology we use evolves and hides it all from us via various forms of automatic conversion. VMware vCloud program lets enterprises acquire, provision, manage and move between multiple service providers. VMware is expanding its vCloud program, enabling enterprises to buy and move their virtualized assets across multiple service providers. The vCloud is VMware’s program for service providers to run VMware virtualized clouds. The vCloud program was announced last year and is now expanding to enable virtual machine movement and service purchases across multiple vendors. Read full article.
