Global Cloud Computing
VMware vCloud® Datacenter Global Connect.
VMware vCloud® Global Connect is a unique capability of VMware vCloud Datacenter service that allows customers to use cloud computing services from multiple providers as if they are from a single virtual cloud hosted at Bluelock.
Global Connect allows global enterprises to get the cloud computing infrastructure they need, where they need it, when they need it – in geographies where Bluelock does not offer VMware vCloud Datacenter service.

Global Cloud core components.
A common VMware-based cloud infrastructure that allows workloads to run without modification on clouds from different providers.
The vCloud API, which allows cloud consumers to automate provisioning and management of applications across clouds.
New extensions to the vCloud Datacenter service, such as catalog synchronization that simplify and automate workload deployment and management across clouds.
Business agreements between cloud providers that simplify the contracting process for a customer: the principle that one contract could provide the ability to connect to one provider’s cloud and any other clouds with whom that provider has a roaming agreement.
Service level agreements (SLAs) and network interconnect agreements between cloud providers, which allow service providers to offer end-to-end service level agreements to their customers.
VMware provides the common cloud infrastructure, vCloud API and vCloud Datacenter extensions to the service providers. Bluelock provides the contract and SLAs to their customers.

What problems does a Global Cloud solve?
Regulations to keep sensitive data inside geographic boundaries (data locality).
Need to reduce risk through cloud diversity.
Access to cost-effective disaster recovery locations without adding operational complexity.
The performance and cost challenges of delivering applications and data to customers worldwide.
Consistent cloud computing for VMware virtualized applications across clouds from different providers.
No need to rewrite applications as they are deployed to additional cloud providers (compatibility).
End-to-end service level agreements across cooperating cloud providers (provided by the service providers).
Allow customers to simplify cloud procurement by working with one service provider who can augment cloud capability through other providers.
Intercloud SLAs (provided by service providers).

How is this different from other global cloud offerings?
Consistent cloud computing for VMware virtualized applications across clouds from different providers.
No need to rewrite applications as they are deployed to additional cloud providers (compatibility).
End-to-end service level agreements across cooperating cloud providers (provided by the service providers).
Allow customers to simplify cloud procurement by working with one service provider who can augment cloud capability through other providers.
Intercloud SLAs (provided by service providers).

What are the benefits of a Global Cloud?
Cloud where I want it, when I want it.
Meet regulatory requirements on data privacy and location while improving customer experience.
Simple, consistent, redundant cloud computing.
Simpler cloud procurement for new cloud locations from one provider.
