The biggest differentiating feature of a Bluelock Virtual Datacenter is that you can easily re-adjust resource allocations within your environment at any time.
Many cloud providers offer the same combination of components and may also be based on VMware technology, but they don’t allow you to reconfigure the resources after they’ve been allocated the way Bluelock does. Other providers will offer pre-configured “cookie cutter” Virtual Datacenters – or more narrowly yet, just servers — with fixed compute, memory and storage. If you grow out of one of these, you must trade that Virtual Datacenter or server in for a larger one.
At Bluelock, no matter how your resources are allocated initially, you can always readjust how much compute, memory, storage or bandwidth you have in your Bluelock Virtual Datacenter or available to a VM or vApp – you can grow and contract as needed without ever moving your workload.
